“A Warm welcome to our class”

Lanarkshires most comprehensive, cost effective learning to guide you from Bump, Birth to Baby

Hello, lets have a blether

Hi I’m Julie and I offer perinatal support and education to Mums and Families across Lanarkshire, with classes currently based in Airdrie and Hamilton. I have over a decade of experience teaching Active Antenatal birthing and baby classes and of course my own experience with my two children. I bring a wealth of knowledge and first hand skill set to my role as a Perinatal Educator.

I was formerly the Daisy Foundation Lanarkshire teacher until August 2023 when the company folded. As a result, Julie Keys Bump, Birth and Baby classes was born.

So you might be asking yourself why Bump, Birth and Baby classes? I don’t like to blow my own trumpet, but I wanted to share why my classes will be the perfect fit for you. So let’s get the boring stuff out the way first, I have award winning credentials. I’m very proud winner of a MAMA award (equivalent of a Oscar for the industry).

I also have some great chat, well so they tell me, no subject or question is taboo. My classes are friendly, supportive and fantastic value for money. It’s for these reasons, I’m proud to be the leading provider in the Lanarkshire area.

I’m more than just a class. This is a community where you can meet friends for life, we currently have a private online community of around 3,000 mums who have joined classes in the last decade. Its a forum where we laugh, cry and ask some weird questions.

More importantly, I ensure you’re feeling relaxed and prepared for the life-changing journey ahead, whilst gaining a brand new set of friends to share it with. I offer classes from early pregnancy (14 weeks until due), using either the weekly mums only classes or a one off couples workshop.

Once your wee one has arrived safely we continue on your parenting journey with Tinies baby massage between birth to 20 weeks , followed on by Wrigglers Baby Yoga classes best suited from babies from 12 weeks until they’re crawling. Providing continuity of care all the way through your journey with me

The reason I teach these classes, is I felt that when I was pregnant there was a lack of community support for mums to be and new mums. After my daughter was born my mental health suffered as I was diagnosed with post natal depression, I was compelled to help others who were in the same baby boat and reduce the chances of this happening. So I can absolutely relate to the feelings of isolation, baby blues and overwhelming emotions.

Julie Keys Baby Wrigglers - This is a great class for parent and baby. We open class with a little update to see how everyone is getting on - typically this allows us to cover topics like sleep, starting solids and teething etc. We follow this with some soft stretch routines which are carefully curated to encourage baby's development; building flexibility and strength for their physical milestones as well as stimulating their proprioceptive and vestibular senses for sensory development. Our soft stretch / yoga routine is accompanied by a combination of familiar songs. Singing to babies helps their language development and they love it!

Julie Keys Antenatal Couples Workshop - This is one off informative 4 hour workshop, we will cover all stages of labour; Physiology of birth, how to help yourself in labour breathing techniques, induction of labour, Gentle c-section, active birth and how it can help improve your birthing experience. We will also focus on how to best support your partner when in labour, massage and scarf work for pregnancy and birth and so much more! Couples will have the opportunity to ask lots of questions even the obscure ones, no questions are silly in this workshop. Plus there is the added bonus of home baking making it a great way to learn..

Any number of emotions can overwhelm us: excitement, fear, anxiety, delight, uncertainty, confusion – and these may well be ever changing! Julie Keys Antenatal Bumps classes helps expectant mums enjoy a positive pregnancy and prepare for a confident birth. This class takes the best elements of antenatal education, pregnancy yoga, active birth and hypno-birthing and wraps all of these together in a powerful class.

Tinies is a weekly postnatal baby massage class for you and your baby in the ‘fourth trimester’ to help you learn how to use baby massage and movement to aid calming, soothing and connection with your baby. Julie Keys Baby Tinies classes helps new parents enjoy a safe and supported first few months with baby. When it comes to baby massage we encourage a calm supportive and friendly atmosphere to help all parents attending to relax.
