A Pregnancy Class for Every Birth Journey

Whether you are planning:

• a hospital birth
• a home birth
• a water birth
• an epidural
• an induced labour
• or a planned caesarean birth

these classes will help you feel informed, calm and confident about whatever birth unfolds.

Birth doesn’t always follow a perfect plan. These classes help you understand how labour works and how to navigate your choices, so you feel prepared for any path your birth may take.

Book Early in Pregnancy

Many mums book our classes after their 12 week scan so they can join after their 20 week scan to enjoy the full experience throughout pregnancy.

Joining earlier means you can:

• build friendships with other local mums
• learn gradually rather than in one intense course
• enjoy weekly relaxation and time for yourself
• feel confident about birth long before labour begins
• attend more than one course if you want to

Most women attend between 20–40 weeks pregnant.

What Makes These Classes Different?

Unlike many antenatal courses that run over one weekend, these weekly sessions give you time to absorb information, practise techniques and build real friendships.

Over 6 relaxed weekly classes you will:

• Understand how your body works during labour
• Learn natural ways to cope with contractions
• Discover positions that can make labour easier
• Practise breathing and relaxation techniques
• Feel confident discussing choices with midwives
• Prepare for different birth scenarios
• Meet other local mums going through the same stage as you

Each class is around 90 minutes of learning, movement, relaxation and chat but the format is flexible, depending on circumstances.

These Classes Are For All Birth Plans

You are welcome whether you are planning:

• a hospital birth
• a home birth
• an epidural
• a water birth
• an induced birth
• or a planned caesarean

My classes focus on understanding your options and feeling confident whatever birth unfolds.

Every pregnancy and birth is unique, and the aim of these sessions is to help you feel informed, calm and supported

What We Cover During the 6 Week Course

Our classes combine the best parts of antenatal education, hypnobirthing and pregnancy yoga.

Topics include:

• Understanding your body during labour
• Birth hormones and how they help labour progress
• Natural pain relief techniques
• Breathing and relaxation for labour
• Active birth positions
• Making informed choices during pregnancy and birth
• Planning for different birth scenarios
• Hypnobirthing techniques for calm labour

Each week also includes gentle pregnancy relaxation to help you unwind.

A Community for Mums

One of the things mums love most about the classes is the friendships they make.

Because you meet the same group every week, you quickly build connections with other local mums who are at the same stage of pregnancy.

Each group has:

• a WhatsApp group
• access to a private Facebook community
• ongoing support after the course ends

Many groups continue meeting for coffee, my baby classes, baby walks and playdates once their babies arrive, some women have been known to have a cheeky weekends away or holidays abroad together!.

  • Classes are booked in blocks of 6 weeks at a time

  • Each class is 90 mins long.

  • 6 week block from £78

  • Q. Does my partner come to this class

No, this weekly class is for mums only but there is a perfect class if you would prefer to attend with your birth partner. Click HERE to find out more

    Q. Can I do both the weekly Bumps class and the couples class?

    A. Yes, A lot of mums enjoy their weekly time to themselves but like to bring their birth partners along to the couples workshop to help them work together as a team when labour starts and it helps them to understand how they can best help and support you and each other during that time.

    Q. When is the best time to start Bumps Antenatal classes?

    A. It depends on how you are feeling but I always recommend after 20 weeks and before 37 weeks. If you are anxious about birth, get booked in during your second trimester can help to ease those fears and help you to relax. You can attend classes all the way up to being in labour, but babies' arrivals can take us by surprise, so we recommend that you complete a term by the time you reach 37 weeks (just in case)! My first baby arrived at 34 weeks with no prior warning so you never know!

    Q. What do I wear to classes?

    A. No Matter which class you are coming to they are all mat based so we sit on mats on the floor. The only exception is the couples workshop which is chairs. So, it is advised to wear comfy clothes, most mums wear leggings or something stretchy.

    Q. What do I need to bring to Bumps class?

    A. Yourself, a bottle of water, a cushion and blanket for relaxation. If you have your own yoga mat please bring along but mats are provided for everyone.

    Q. What if I miss class will it get rolled into the following week?

    A. The terms are set blocks and no classes can be carried over as per our terms and conditions. I will do my best to fit you into another class in the same week where possible or catch you up on what you may have missed when you return.

  • "straight talking and honest support"

Julie’s antenatal class was fab! This is for you if you want straight talking and honest support during your pregnancy. A bit of a natter, some yoga and breathing and some education each week which left me feeling like I might start to have a clue what to do when baby arrives. Julie is so kind and giving of her time, she remembers your situation week to week so you do feel very much looked after.

  • "expert knowledge"

I attended this Breast feeding workshop in Airdrie and it was fantastic! Angela from Latch On Lanarkshire created a friendly, relaxed atmosphere! Her expert knowledge has really helped me to feel confident and supported when my baby arrives next month.

The information covered was superior to any class I've attended before (including my NHS classes)!

...and the fact that the fee collected is given to Bear Necessities Charity in Lanarkshire is a lovely Brucey Bonus! 😊

    Highly recommend 💕🤰🤰

  • "I couldn't recommend them enough"

I attended both the weekly antenatal bumps and the couples course with Julie, and I couldn't recommend them enough. I felt quite unprepared and overwhelmed by too much information on the internet, so it was nice to have a weekly check-in to learn, ask questions and share experiences with other soon-to-be-mums. Julie is really welcoming, and instantly puts you at ease. I really looked forward to the class each week, and to be around others in the same boat. The mums are now looking to carry on our community after the classes, which I think will be a great support in our journey through motherhood.
Annika - Hamilton pregnancy class 2024

  • "Honest insight"

Julie has the unique ability to make you feel empowered about your upcoming birth, equipping you with honest insight to help understand your next steps and make informed decisions on what is right for you and your family. This granted my birthing partner and I the opportunity to complete our detailed birthing plan.

  • "Enjoyed my Bump class"

I really enjoyed my Bump class and Julie is a fantastic teacher. I feel more prepared with Julie providing lots of important information and techniques to help with the birth and beyond. No question is too silly to ask and spending time with other ladies and listening to their experiences has helped me understand I am not alone with many of my thoughts and feelings and this has really helped me on my journey. Thanks again Julie!!

  • "highlight of our week"

Julie's classes were the highlight of our week bonding with my baby, but even more so getting to know the other Mums and finding out everything I was going through or questioning, they were too. Most Mums stayed in the cafe for a cuppa / cake / lunch afterwards and we found our tribe. I've made life long friends through all of this, and become a much more confident Mum.

  • The class was really informative!

I attended Julie’s antenatal class and at first really didn’t know what to expect. The class was really informative, Julie is so knowledgable! It was great to meet other expecting mums and chat about our experiences. I would highly recommend Julie’s class!

I attended Julie’s bumps class and really enjoyed it. I now feel more prepared and have learned things I would never of known. Julie makes you feel so comfortable and it’s lovely to chat to other mums to be!
