Lanarkshire Antenatal class in Hamilton with pregnant mums

“Thanks to Julie Keys classes I transformed from a blissfully unaware pregnant lady- anxious about labour, to an excited mother, desperately awaiting the arrival of her first baby. No questions were inappropriate or silly. Julie's class was full of fun, education and relaxation. I left every class feeling lifted, excitedly phoning my family on the drive home to fill them in each week. Can't thank Julie enough for her constant support- she even messaged me back from on her holiday when I told her I was going into labour! I can't wait to continue the journey with her baby classes too.”

“I did two antenatal blocks, a couples workshop and am now booked on to my second set of Tinies Baby Massage classes. The support Julie offers is so amazing and I give her full credit for a completely unmedicated second delivery after a very tricky first. I have met some friends along the way and look forward to Julie’s classes every week for as long as she’ll have us!”

Mum and baby massage class, Baby getting their back massage in Tinies class Airdrie

“What a fantastic wee class i have been taking my wee girl to Julie’s Tinies baby massage class for a few weeks. I have met some wonderful mums and “wee” friends thanks to Julie’s baby classes and how she encourages everyone to engage and share our weeks together. That’s just the social side my wee girl loves her massage and songs that get sung to her whilst julie explains all about what different part of the babys body massage effects. Love this class and julie is lovely already booked the next block of classes

“I have attended baby wrigglers with my little one. Julie has been fantastic and goes over and above to look out for everyone and help with any problems or worries. Alongside the classes, Julie encourages the development of long-term friendships and support through the WhatsApp and Facebook groups. Being part of Julie's classes and the wider Julie Keys, Bump, Birth and Baby Network has been a huge benefit throughout. 100% recommend

  • Q. Can I do both the weekly Bumps class and the couples class?

A.Yes, A lot of mums enjoy their weekly time to themselves but like to bring their birth partners along to the couples workshop to help them work together as a team when labour starts and it helps them to understand how they can best help and support you and each other during that time.

    Q. When is the best time to start Bumps Antenatal classes?

    A. It depends on how you are feeling but I always recommend after 20 weeks and before 37 weeks. If you are anxious about birth, get booked in during your second trimester can help to ease those fears and help you to relax. You can attend classes all the way up to being in labour, but babies' arrivals can take us by surprise, so we recommend that you complete a term by the time you reach 37 weeks (just in case)! My first baby arrived at 34 weeks with no prior warning so you never know!

    Q. What do I wear to classes?

    A. No Matter which class you are coming to they are all mat based so we sit on mats on the floor. The only exception is the couples workshop which is chairs. So, it is advised to wear comfy clothes, most mums wear leggings or something stretchy.

    Q. What do I need to bring to Bumps class?

    A. Yourself, a bottle of water, a cushion and blanket for relaxation. If you have your own yoga mat please bring along but mats are provided for everyone.

    Q. What if I miss class will it get rolled into the following week?

    A. The terms are set blocks and no classes can be carried over as per our terms and conditions. I will do my best to fit you into another class in the same week where possible or catch you up on what you may have missed when you return.

Julie Keys Tinies Class

Julie Keys Baby Tinies classes provide a weekly postnatal class for parents and babies in the 'fourth trimester'. The class focuses on teaching parents how to use baby massage and movement to calm, soothe, and connect with their baby. We strive to create a calm, supportive, and friendly atmosphere during baby massage sessions to help parents relax and enjoy their time with their baby.

  • Tinies Baby massage class is designed for newborn babies and can be started whenever you feel ready. It is suitable for babies up to around 4 or 5 months old.
Similar to every class, we begin with a brief discussion where everyone can share their experiences, ask questions, and learn about their new babies.
Throughout the term, we cover various topics such as the fourth trimester, sleep, teething, reflux, and colic.
We incorporate positive touch routines to help babies adjust to the outside world.
Our massage routines can aid in soothing tummies, promoting regular bowel movements, and strengthening the bond between mother and baby. Additionally, we incorporate songs and gentle movements to stimulate the senses. The classes are friendly, relaxed, and open to everyone!

  • Q. When is the best time to Start Tinies?

    A. Tinies is best suited to babies under 20 weeks at time of starting. It is a baby massage based class which is as much for mum as it is baby. Babies under 6 weeks can still be quite sleepy and feed all the time but if mum needs out she is still learning essential skills to help bond with baby, calm and help with wind and colic as well as looking after her own mental health .

    Q. What do I wear to classes?

    A. No Matter which class you are coming to they are all mat based so we sit on mats on the floor. The only exception is the couples workshop which is chairs. So, it is advised to wear comfy clothes, most mums wear leggings or something stretchy.

    Q. What do I need to bring to Tinies class?

    A. Yourself and baby, a wee blanket or hand towel for them to lie on and oil/ moisturiser for massage. If you are already using something at home please bring that. Mats are provided for everyone.

    Q. Can I bring my toddler or other children to Tinies and Wrigglers classes

    A. Unfortunately it is a one baby rule. If we allow one toddler then we allow all toddlers which is not covered under our insurance. It also gives much a chance to focus on baby giving you special time together.

    Q. Can I bring twins/ triplets

    A. Yes, I quite often have twins to class and have had triplets before. The price is the same as one child. You can bring another adult along to help you, one adult per child.

    Q. Can both parents come to baby classes

    A. It is a one adult per child policy, either parent is welcome to bring baby but only one at a time.

    Q. What happens if my baby gets their immunisation appt when my class is on?

    A. Where possible I will do my best to try and fit you into another class in the same week so you don’t miss out.

    Q. What if I miss class will it get rolled into the following week?

    A. The terms are set blocks and no classes can be carried over as per our terms and conditions. I will do my best to fit you into another class in the same week where possible or catch you up on what you may have missed when you return.

Julie Keys Wrigglers Class

Julie Keys Baby Wrigglers - This is a great class for parent and baby. We open class with a little update to see how everyone is getting on - typically this allows us to cover topics like sleep, starting solids and teething etc. We follow this with some soft stretch routines which are carefully curated to encourage baby's development; building flexibility and strength for their physical milestones as well as stimulating their proprioceptive and vestibular senses for sensory development. Our soft stretch / yoga routine is accompanied by a combination of familiar songs. Singing to babies helps their language development and they love it!

  • A weekly class for you and baby to help you learn how to use a variety of tools such as: baby massage, baby yoga, rhythm, rhyme, story and (baby) sensory experiences to aid your baby’s development, your connection and have fun together!

Julie Keys Baby Wrigglers classes are for parent and baby, are suitable to attend from around 12 weeks until baby is crawling and are adapted to suit multiples and individual needs with ease.

  • Q. When is the best time to start Wrigglers?

    A. Wrigglers is best suited to babies who are starting to spend more time looking about and are not having fun lying down any more. This differs for every baby so I always recommend from 12 weeks at the earliest, 16 weeks is better, until baby starts crawling. In classes we are helping baby to milestones through stretch and movement, so the main goal is crawling. Therefore once crawling a more mobile class is recommended.

    Q. What do I wear to classes?

    A. No Matter which class you are coming to they are all mat based so we sit on mats on the floor. The only exception is the couples workshop which is chairs. So, it is advised to wear comfy clothes, most mums wear leggings or something stretchy.
